Lead singers Catherine Irwin and Janet Bean hail from Louisville (though the latter has lived in Chicago for years) and do their hometown proud (despite the knocks of "Loserville," from their latest album). Their high-lonesome harmonies will send a chill up your spine and put a tear in your beer.
If you want to check them out, I'd start with "Old Paint," which contains two of my favorites of theirs, "My One Desire" and "Kentucky House," in addition to "Waitress Song," one of their better-known songs, if there is such a thing.
