Lenore had her first trip to the zoo this week. We wanted to see the baby elephant, Sam, and the baby Visayan warty pigs.You can't tell from the photo, but Lenore was dressed for the occasion in a John Lennon onesie with elephants, rhinos and giraffes. And the receiving blanket (which was mine as a baby!) has pink & blue elephants.
The elephant has been the big story around town, but the warty pigs were pretty much the cutest things we saw -- aside from Lenore, of course! Their mother would lie down to nurse them, only to get up shortly thereafter, and they'd run after her, sometimes one hanging off her, until she plopped down again. They had the cutest little sprint as they followed her around.

Younger than McCain: Our friends Ann & Curt visited from the Bay Area recently, and among the gifts they brought was an "I'm 72 years younger than John McCain" bib. The moderator of the Younger than McCain blog posted this photo of Ann and Lenore modeling the bib.
