Harvey Korman (above left, with Tim Conway) of the late, great "Carol Burnett Show" has died at 81. It was one of my favorite shows as a kid, and I've still been waiting for a proper DVD release of the show beyond "greatest hits" collections.My crush was on mild-mannered straight man Lyle Waggoner, but of the guys, Korman and Conway got the laughs. I was reminded of them when we recently saw Kids in the Hall and Mark McKinney was cracking up Bruce McCulloch onstage.
Here's a classic bit. Funny skit, sure, but it's Korman's nearly uncontrollable laughter that makes it. What a great pair!
